People receiving tax credits have been warned that they have less than a week left to renew their benefits if they don't want to miss out on future payments .
HMRC has issued the message to customers ahead of the deadline on July 31, saying that around 226,000 claimants risk having their payments stopped if they fail to renew their claim by the end of the month. Tax credit customers can renew through the HMRC website and app.
More than 363,000 people have already renewed their claim, The Mirror reports . The amount you are eligible to receive through Working Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit is dependent on your income, as well as other factors including how many hours you work per week and how many children you have.
