Detectives have launched a murder inquiry after a woman died in an stabbing at a flat in south-east London.
Paramedics and Met units were scrambled to the property in Hither Green at around 11.10pm on Wednesday.
An ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer were dispatched.
The victim, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards following efforts to revive her.
Staplehurst Road has been cordoned off by police as forensics officers scour the area for clues.
Officers are also trawling through CCTV footage and carrying out door to door inquiries.
A 24-year-old man was arrested at an address in the same area on Wednesday night on suspicion of murder.
He was taken to a south London police station where he is being questioned.
A police statement said: “Entry was forced to the address and a 31-year-old woman was found injured inside the address. Despite the efforts of emergency services to save her, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.“Following fast-time police enquiries, a 24-year-old man was arrested at an address in SE13 last night on suspicion of murder. He was taken to a south London police station where he remains at this time.“Enquiries are underway to trace next of kin. A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.”
DCI Mike Nolan investigating said: "We know that local people will be shocked by this incident and I would like to reassure the community that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation."
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11:09 last night (March 20) to reports of an assault on Manor Park, SE13.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance by car.
