BENGALURU : The BBMP, whose legal cell is reeling under severe staff shortage, is finally hiring a legal head. The move comes nearly two months after the Palike rejected candidates who had applied to its previous call for applications.
While multiple Palike officials conceded that the legal cell is burdened with a massive caseload, BBMP chief commissioner Tushar Giri Nath said the civic body needs “an extremely competent candidate to lead the cell”, justifying the decision to reject previous applicants, which was done before he took charge.
