The Newcastle Bach Choir was founded in 1915 and is one of the leading choirs in the North East of England. It is comprised of around 100 singers and as the name suggests, it celebrates the legacy of the great classical musician Johann Sebastian Bach.
The choir perform at least three concerts each year and often work with world-class soloists and instrumentalists. For the last few years, it has delivered large-scale performances in Sage Gateshead involving the talented young musicians of the Newcastle University Symphony Orchestra.
The choir is led by Professor Eric Cross, and he has conducted the group since 1984.
