Her story: We have been dealing with infertility and IVF pressure for the past five years. While I have a big bunch of friends who support me through the journey, my husband, who is an introvert, never ever spoke to me about his mental struggles. That’s when I saw him suddenly turning to spiritual books and discourses. Initially, I encouraged him as I felt like he was getting an outlet there but then he started attending online sessions of gurus. He’s now started travelling to attend such discourses and is never interested in doing anything together. It’s getting too much to handle.
His story: I am an introvert and for the first time in my life, I am understanding life and its little joys. My wife and I were so busy trying to bring a life into this world that we forgot about ourselves. I never was a religious person but spirituality always interested me. I pursued it strongly in the past year and I have never felt so much peace in my life ever. My guru gives me peace, he shows me direction and because of him, I don’t feel disappointed or disconnected from my surroundings. I don’t want to upset my marriage but I am sure my wife doesn’t want a partner with whom she is dissatisfied all the time.
