Workers facing redundancy at a Toolstation warehouse in Somerset are to be offered support to find new jobs at Hinkley Point C, the nuclear power station has said.
More than 200 jobs are at risk at Toolstation’s e-commerce distribution centre in the Express Business Park in Bridgwater, after the hardware supplier revealed plans earlier this year to relocate the facility’s operations to a new site in Northampton by the autumn.
Hinkley Point C, which is located around 12 miles away from the warehouse, said its jobs team would be attending an employment event at Toolstation next month, alongside eleven contractors working on the plant, one of Europe’s largest construction projects.
