Despite being at the center of one of the biggest sports stories in the NBA, Jordan Poole went right to work in the Golden State Warriors preseason contest against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday evening in San Francisco.
The 23-year-old budding star looked in midseason form against the Lakers, scoring a team-high 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field with a trio of 3-pointers. Poole added a team-high six assists with four boards, two steals and a block in only 23 minutes against the Lakers.
Poole caught fire in the third quarter, tallying 18 of his points on a red-hot 7-of-11 shooting from the field in the third frame. Poole’s full bag was on display against the Lakers in the third. He scored with crafty takes at the bucket or quick step-back jumpers from beyond the arc.

Despite Poole’s 25-point effort, the Warriors fell to the Lakers in the preseason on Sunday, 124-121. Poole and the Warriors will be back on the court again at Chase Center in the preseason on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
