A HOTEL located in the Scottish Highlands has been named in a prestigious guide in recognition of its wine selection.
The team at The Dipping Lugger in Ullapool recently learned they had been recognised with “White Star” status by The Star Wine List.
It says it is the only restaurant in the Highlands to receive the recognition and one of only 22 in the whole of Scotland.
The award recognises venues with interesting wine lists that have been reviewed and approved for inclusion.
Star Wine List can select venues to be awarded either a red or white star and does not charge venues to be listed.
It is the premier guide to wine-led bars and restaurants, covering 40 countries with more than 2700 wine lists which users can find on the website HERE.
Co-owner of The Dipping Lugger said: “We’re thrilled that we’ve achieved White Star status from the Star Wine List.
“It demonstrates our intention to showcase a wide range of wines from small producers that firmly complement the dishes we serve in the restaurant created by our head chef David Smith and his team.
“We’ve taken a great deal of care sourcing the wines we pour, selecting vineyards that share our commitment to provenance and sustainability.
“I hope that in the fullness of time we will be in a position to achieve further recognition for the list we’ve put together for our diners to enjoy, especially as we constantly developing and refining the list.”
