IT seems everyone is getting in the spirit of the UCI Cycling World Championships.
After an eventful morning in the men’s road race, which saw protesters from This is Rigged halt the race for nearly an hour, a rather unusual sight served to inject a bit of humour into the proceedings.
As the cyclists made their way through the picturesque country roads of central Scotland, a few hairy onlookers momentarily stole the show (and no, we're not talking about the Scots cyclists showing their support from the side of the road).
In amongst a herd of Highland cows, a few of the beasts were filmed by the BBC sporting white cycling jerseys.
“I wouldn’t like to try and get a jersey on a cow,” remarked one member of the commentary team.
Spooked by the hullabaloo accompanying the cyclists streaming past their field, the cows began to run, leading another member of the commentary team to compliment the streamlined nature of their kit.
“There’s a bit of drag there but they look pretty good!”
Rain, protests and cattle wearing clothes. Scotland once again proves its ability to host sporting events which contain not a single dull moment.
