Highland company served with £32,100 penalty after SEPA investigation

A HIGHLAND company has been served with a £32,000 penalty after a Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) investigation.

Pat Munro (Alness) Limited – a quarrying firm – has been issued with a Variable Monetary Penalty (VMP) after the environmental watchdog apparently found a former pond had been progressively filled with waste without any environmental authorisation in place.
