JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has warned that high levels of leverage in financial markets could increase the risk of a sudden disruption, according to CNBC. Dimon, who leads the largest US bank by assets, said margin debt has reached record levels and that some borrowing in markets may not be visible in traditional measures.
"Margin debt is the highest it has ever been," Dimon told CNBC. "There’s a lot of margin debt you don’t see because it’s not called margin debt. It’s called other things. It’s that kind of leverage, some hidden, some public."
