Indian-origin venture capitalist Asha Jadeja Motwani said that she was part of a group of 20 friends that met US President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago the night he chose to cease all negotiations with Iran and begin the war. "Feeling humbled that we got 2 hours with President Trump in Mar-a-Lago last night. On a night that will change the history of our planet forever… the President chose to cease all negotiations with Iran and commence the war - with brave Israelis leading the whole operation," Motwani said.
At the dinner table, the main discussion was the midterm elections and the war with Iran. "At the dinner we were about 20 friends of the President sitting around a table discussing the midterm elections (phones never allowed). But the war w Iran was of course at the top of everyone’s mind. More on this later," she added.
"In the 3 days that i have been in Mar a Lago, am seeing Steve Witcoff, Rubio, Hegseth, Jared Kushner, Susie and the entire team back and forth between the “war room” and the President’s residential area. As always Trump works around the clock. 7 days a week," Motwani wrote. "Am here with a few friends - we are jokingly beginning to call ourselves the “paparazzi” …. It’s impossible not to get tempted to take a few innocent pics."
"Apart from the usual high of meeting our wildly positive President, my highlight was hearing first hand few high level updates from Middle East from Steve Witcoff (am buying a small home close to his in Miami)… and have got to know the family," Motwani added. "We are doing gangbusters! So proud of our team!"
President Donald Trump Monday said the strikes were the "last, best chance" to hit Iran. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the operation, unlike the Iraq one, would not go on endlessly as they have a clear mission to eliminate the threat of Iranian ballistic missiles, destroy the country’s navy and ensure “no nukes.”
“This is not a so-called regime-change war, but the regime sure did change, and the world is better off for it,” Hegseth said. He added that it was "no nation-building quagmire, no democracy-building exercise."
"Our objectives are clear. First, we're destroying Iran's missile capabilities... Second, we're annihilating their navy... Third, we're ensuring that the world's number-one sponsor of terror can never obtain a nuclear weapon. Finally, we are ensuring the Iranian regime can't continue to arm, fund, and direct terrorist armies outside of their borders," Hegseth said.
