Hideki Matsuyama emerged victorious at the 2024 Genesis Invitational after shooting a remarkable final-round 62 at Riviera Country Club. The tournament, in its eighth year with Genesis as the title sponsor, showcased an array of amenities and experiences for players, caddies, and fans alike.
During the final round, Max Homa made a pit stop at one of the temporary hospitality areas set up by the sponsor before teeing off on the 10th hole. The sponsor, Genesis, provided various services such as starter shacks for quick snacks, complimentary barber service, physical therapy tools, and courtesy vehicles for all players throughout the event.
The tournament also featured unique fan experiences, including a hospitality area on the 14th hole where players had the chance to win a car for themselves and their caddies by hitting a hole-in-one. Attendees could immerse themselves in Korean hospitality with offerings like the latest Genesis models, Bang & Olufsen headphones, and a complimentary coffee bar with Korean-inspired snacks.
Genesis also engaged fans through charitable initiatives like the “Chari-tees” activation, allowing attendees to select a charity to support. The Genesis Inspiration Foundation donated $100,000 each to Girls on the Run, First Tee, and U.S. Soccer Foundation. Fans could also send messages to PGA Tour players or loved ones through the “Postcards from the Green” activity.
The 2024 Genesis Invitational, hosted by Tiger Woods and the TGR Foundation, featured a star-studded field with 18 of the top-20 players in the Official World Golf Rankings. Hideki Matsuyama's victory not only earned him $4 million and a 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe but also made him the winningest Asian player in PGA Tour history, surpassing K.J. Choi.
Looking ahead, Genesis is considering expanding its sports sponsorship footprint, potentially venturing into women's sports like the LPGA. With a strong presence in golf and a commitment to enhancing fan experiences, Genesis aims to continue its support for sports and charitable initiatives in the future.
