A hard-to-spot heart disease that has worse outcomes than most cancers, if not treated in time, could be caught by a simple test missed by some medical professionals, a doctor has warned.
When one or more of the valves between the heart's four chambers stop working properly, additional strain is placed on your heart. According to the British Heart Foundation, as the heart is forced to work harder, this will increase your chance of having a heart attack, or stroke.
Heart specialist Dr Mamta Buch has warned that the disease can often go undetected as routine checks are not always carried out when they should be.
