Hibs transfer exit state of play amid Christian Doidge & Nohan Kenneh interest

Christian Doidge could leave Hibs in the summer with "four or five clubs" keen to strike a deal for the striker.

Lee Johnson has admitted Doidge could move on this month amid significant transfer interest but added there is always the chance to contribute at Easter Road.

Welsh target man Doidge, 30, is in Portugal with Hibs for pre-season training and has a year left on his contract in Leith.

It means his situation is somewhat flexible with the club and player holding the power to reject any transfer proposals.

“While you’re here, you always have an opportunity," said Johnson to the Daily Record. "But there’s been serious interest in Christian, there are four or five clubs trying to recruit him.

"Christian has a year left on his contract and, as a club, we honour that.

"If he stays because he or we don’t feel those offers are good enough, then, of course, he has every opportunity to stake his claim.”

Johnson also revealed interest from England has arisen in midfielder Nohan Kenneh after a loan spell at Ross County.

However, the Hibs boss appeared to suggest Kenneh could feature for Hibs this season as a squad player despite the transfer links both from England and Europe.

He explained: "Nohan’s a good player to have in the squad because he is very flexible and can play any position in midfield and also centre-half.

“If you look at Nohan’s season last year, I’m not sure how many 19-year-olds played 38 games at this level of football. That doesn’t really happen.

"If they do, like he did, it stands out to a lot of people and, again he’s another who is attracting interest from areas of Europe, particularly England. This is a tough league as well – I’ve played in it twice and now have managed in it."
