Hibs star Aiden McGeady adamant 'it's not his job' to decide under-fire Lee Johnson's fate

Hibs star Aiden McGeady has stressed it’s not his job to decide how long Lee Johnson is given in the Easter Road hotseat.

The increasing pressure on the Englishman was eased with the 3-2 win over Motherwell on Sunday after a galling run on nine defeats in 11 games. But former Celtic star McGeady is adamant it’s not up to him to big up the man he previously worked under at Sunderland. Speaking to Sky Sports, the 36-year-old, who was instrumental in the Fir Park victory, said: “It’s not my job to decide whether the manager is given time or not. I’m just a just a player, we just go out there and play as well as we can, get the three points, play to the best of our abilities.

"Obviously, it’s the manager’s job to get the best out the players he’s got. I’ll leave that down to other people to make decisions. It’s got nothing to do with me. I’ll just try and to my job. Score, lay on goals, Nizzy did his job, scored a hat-trick. I’ll just leave it at that I think.” Kevin Nisbet grabbed a brilliant hat-trick to move Hibs into seventh in the table. Next up for Johnson’s side is a home clash with Dundee United on Saturday.
