Hibs reject seven-figure Millwall offer for Kevin Nisbet

Hibs have rejected an offer from Millwall for star striker Kevin Nisbet.

The Championship club yesterday tabled a seven-figure bid for the Scotland international.

The Scottish Sun say this was rejected by Easter Road chiefs.

The 25-year-old has been in red hot form of late after returning from a ten-month injury lay-off. He has netted seven goals in as many games since the resumption of league football following the World Cup.

Hibs are said to be reluctant to lose the striker, understandably. However, they are willing to cash in should the fee be right, with the player keen to challenge himself in England.

Nisbet has just 18-months left on his current deal, which poses the dilemma for Ron Gordon and the rest of the Hibees board.

It is said that Nisbet has no intention of extending his stay in the capital beyond that point.

Several clubs, including Celtic, are said to have been keeping a close eye on Nisbet since he return to first team action in recent weeks.

The ex-Dunfermline and Partick Thistle forward was tipped for a transfer before suffering his cruciate ligament injury last February.

Birmingham had a bid rejected in February 2021, with Nisbet handing in a transfer request to try to force it through, but the move didn’t materialise.

If Nisbet is to go then Johnson would look to strengthen their attacking options as they look to get their season back on track.

Hibs take on Aberdeen this weekend in what looks to be a crucial Premiership encounter, especially with Jim Goodwin set to lose his job at Pittodrie.
