Gartcairn academy coach Paul Gallacher hopes young duo Conlan Brown and Ayden Gallacher’s moves to Hibs can inspire more youngsters to link up with the Airdrie side.
Ayden - Gallacher’s son - was wanted by a host of Premiership clubs before deciding Hibs was best for him. Brown meanwhile has also been snapped up by Hibs.
Both have featured in matches for their new clubs and Easter Road academy chief Steven Kean has provided early words of encouragement after their entry into the elite youth system.
Gartcairn’s academy may now be two talented players light, but Gallacher senior is hoping he can use the pair as examples as to why kids should join his team.
He said: “This shows that there is a pathway for youngsters at Gartcairn and we will support that.
"If any of our young players are doing really well, we have contacts where they can come and ask us about players and put them forward.
“When people come out to watch them, we will fully support them in going to train and getting them opportunities at other clubs.
Ayden and Conlan have that opportunity, which we have supported and encouraged.
“I think there has to be a pathway for young players. Steve Kean has already met the boys and he was there to meet them when they signed.
“We’ve had numerous Zoom meetings where he’s spoke about his vision, the expectations for the boys and what their diet needs to be, things like that.
"It’s been fantastic.”
