Hibernian boss David Gray warns Rangers they are facing the 'in-form team' on Sunday

David Gray has warned Rangers that they will need to approach their match against Hibernian with caution, as his team are currently the “in-form team in the league.”

Rangers travel to Easter Road on Sunday fresh off the back of a shock 3-0 win over league leaders Celtic on Thursday.

Despite Rangers' recent success, Gray, who was recently honoured as the Scottish Premiership's manager of the month for December, believes his revitalised squad is well-prepared for the challenge.

Hibs have secured 13 points from their last five matches and has only lost once in their last eight outings, showcasing their impressive form heading into this crucial home encounter.

It's a far cry from when the teams met just a few months ago. Hibs were in the middle of a run of just one win in 15 matches and lost 1-0 at Ibrox, ramping the pressure up on Gray to deliver results amid a possible sack threat.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Hibs boss said: “It’s a really good game to look forward to, and I think the last place that Rangers would want to come right now is the in-form team in the league, which is ourselves, so that’s the confidence we need to take from that."

“Yes, they’re off the back of a fantastic win in the Old Firm game but we need to take the confidence from the position we’ve put ourselves in and how we’ve been playing of late. It’ll be tough but if we can play to the best of our ability we know we’re a match for anyone.

“It’s a very different game [from the reverse fixture], we’re at home. We’re in a very different place from when we played them the last time and I think that can only be a positive, but at the same time you can’t take that for granted, it will be a difficult game.”
