A HGV driver was fined by police after being spotted 'spending a penny' while parked on the hard shoulder of the M62.
Traffic officers spotted the stationary vehicle on the hard shoulder of the motorway and pulled over. They saw the driver urinating 'in view of passing motorists'.
The driver was handed a graduated fixed penalty notice and told to use the toilets at the service, police said. They were warned that the hard shoulder should only be used in an emergency.
