Former soldier James Nicholl, who died earlier this month while trying to save another man in the River Liffey, has been praised as a "kind soul" and a "hero" for his actions.
In the early hours of Easter Saturday on April 8, the 41-year-old, who was originally from The Curragh, and his partner came across a man who was in distress in the Liffey near Grattan Bridge.
Speaking to RTE Liveline on Monday, James' sister Deborah opened up about what happened on the night while paying a heartwarming tribute to her "beautiful, heart-warming brother".
