Hero emergency crews raced to the scene after a van drove off into the river following a crash in Cork this morning.
The single-car collision happened at around 9.50am on Tuesday on the R612 near Carrigaline, sending the van veering off the road into the River Owenabue.
Emergency services including gardai and two fire engines, one from Carrigaline fire station and one from Crosshaven, rushed to the scene to rescue the driver from the van.

CorkBeo understands that the crew were able to pull the driver - who was the sole occupant of the vehicle - out of the van following the crash.
The man was rushed to Cork University Hospital for a medical check-up but no injuries were reported.
The road was closed following the incident with local diversions in place but it reopened shortly after 1.30pm.
A spokesperson for the Gardai said: "Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the R612 near Carrigaline, Co. Cork at approximately 9:50 am this morning, Tuesday 3rd January 2023."
