The New England Patriots moved up to the fourth overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft after Sunday’s 25-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, per Tankathon.com.
The Patriots currently have a 3-10 record on the year, while teams slotted higher than them—the New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars—all sit with a 2-10 record on the season.
The Patriots showed some promising signs in the loss to the Colts. They recorded 422 total yards of offense. However, they struggled at turning that offensive success into touchdowns.
Defensively, they weren’t able to slow down Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson. He especially hurt them on the ground, particularly during his two-point conversion score after leading the Colts offense on an 80-yard touchdown drive.
The Patriots are on a bye this week with a chance to reset before taking on the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15. They’ll try to build on the positives in hopes of forging a better future for the team.
That future likely has another top draft pick in store for them in 2025.
