Here’s The ‘Garden of Eden’ Avocados From Mexico Super Bowl Ad

Super Bowl commercials always seem to push the envelope year in and year out, but the newest ad by Avocados From Mexico truly feels like a fever dream featuring actress Anna Faris.

Faris, best known for her role in the Scary Movie franchise, begins the ad as Eve alongside Adam in the Garden of Eden, and it appears she just took a bite of the apple, leading to some suboptimal weather conditions. Naturally, a chipmunk appears and tosses her an avocado, promising “they make everything better.”

When she opens the avocado, there’s a glimpse of New York City in the present day. So instead of a world with sin thanks to Eve’s biting the apple, the world is a utopia. But there’s one rather big change: just like Adam and Eve, everyone is naked.

In every direction, there appears to be avocados and naked people, but no conflict whatsoever—plainly shown when two taxi drivers exchange pleasantries instead of obscenities in typical NYC fashion. Being nude just seems to be the fashion trend of the world, as does avocados having a role in everyday life.

The commercial ends with Faris basking in front of a nude version of the Statue of Liberty while saying, “Now that’s a tourist attraction.”
