Vanessa Hudgens recently said "I do" to Cole Tucker down in Mexico. Her Vera Wang wedding gown is stunning, but we are equally as enchanted by her glamorous updo. Celebrity hairstylist Danielle Priano used a just-launched line of Redken products to achieve the high-shine chignon.
"Being part of such a special event is always an incredible honor," shares Priano. "We crafted a style that elegantly enhanced the classic silhouette of her dress — a sleek, pearl-adorned chignon to complement her ethereal veil. With Redken products, we ensured her hair was both beautifully styled and impeccably treated, keeping it protected throughout. Our goal was an effortless yet structured look that exuded sheer shine and sophistication."
Priano kicked things off with Redken Acidic Color Gloss Shampoo, then applied Redken Activated Glass Gloss Treatment leaving it in Hudgens' hair for five minutes before layering on Redken Acidic Color Gloss Conditioner, then rinsing thoroughly. Priano relied on Redken Acidic Color Gloss Heat Protection Treatment to protect from heat damage and sprayed on Redken Spray Smooth prior to blowdrying.
Next, Priano sculpted the chignon with a little help from Redken's Max Sculpting Gel and Redken Brushable Hairspray. She sectioned and pulled back Hudgens' hair with the gel to outline the updo's shape. Securing in place as she went along, Priano used the hairspray to help set the look. A few bobby pins teamed with Redken Control Hairspray and the polished hairstyle was ready for the veil.
