Over the weekend, the Miami Dolphins made the decision to trade wide receiver DeVante Parker and a fifth-round pick to the New England Patriots for a 2023 third-round pick in return.
When the deal became official on Tuesday, the Dolphins released a statement from general manager Chris Grier that shared his feelings on Parker.
“From the day we drafted DeVante and he became a Miami Dolphin, he has epitomized everything we desire in a player – excellence on the field, a great teammate and a model citizen in the community. We are thankful for everything he has given this organization over the past [seven] seasons and wish him continued success. He will always be an important piece of our franchise history.”
The Dolphins have moved on with a trio of wide receivers (Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Cedrick Wilson Jr.) that they believe can help take this team to the next level. However, they won’t forget what Parker brought the team since he was selected in the first round of the 2015 draft.
