Here is why JuJu Smith-Schuster chose the Chiefs in free agency

The Kansas City Chiefs have made their second acquisition of the 2022 NFL free agency period, agreeing to terms with WR JuJu Smith-Schuster on a one-year deal.

Speaking to NFL Network’s Taylor Bisciotti, Smith-Schuster revealed his motivations for joining the Chiefs in free agency this time around. He had a shot to join the team in 2021, but he opted to return to Pittsburgh on a one-year deal. Now, he’s got his eyes set on playing with Patrick Mahomes, winning games, and securing a Lombardi Trophy.

“I am going to play with a future Hall of Fame QB, to play with one of the best to ever do it. My goal as a player is to win, so I’m going to Kansas City with the hopes of winning a Super Bowl.”

Smith-Schuster has already played with one future Hall of Famer in Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, but that came at the end of Big Ben’s career. Now, he will get a chance to play with Mahomes during his prime.

His one goal is to win and in the last 10 seasons, only the New England Patriots have won more games than the Chiefs. Even with the AFC West stocking up on weapons on offense and defense, Kansas City has gone four consecutive seasons reaching the AFC championship game, twice reaching and once winning the Super Bowl. The path won’t be easy, but Smith-Schuster has got a pretty good shot at helping the team get back there again.
