With the return of MLB baseball today, there are bound to be tons of exciting moments throughout 2023. But if you rely on MLB.TV to keep up with all the action, you might run into some occasional blackout issues. And when that happens, we’ve all been there. You’re missing out on some incredible dingers, pitching performances, and otherwise high drama.

How some games just won't be available
Occasionally, nationally televised games and otherwise might not be available to you depending on where you live, but you do have other options:
“Due to certain Major League Baseball exclusivities, select regular season, special event, and Postseason games are unavailable on MLB.TV domestically and internationally.”
Audio is still available in these circumstances
Though, even if you can’t even watch the action, MLB.TV still has a service for fans with bad luck.
“Live audio of the games that are unavailable is available to customers within “At Bat,” which is included with all MLB.TV subscriptions.”
Additional caveats
Here are some more potential restrictions and specifications to keep in mind:

“Home television territory blackout restrictions apply regardless of whether a Club is home or away and regardless of whether or not a game is televised in a Club’s home television territory.

Clubs located within the United States may be subject to home television territory blackout restrictions that may expand to outside of the United States.

All San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics live games will be blacked out in the U.S. territory of Guam.”
