LIV Golf shifted to the Far East this week and its annual stop in Hong Kong, offering a $30 million purse, with $4 million to the individual winner and $10 million set aside for the team competition.
Jon Rahm had an eventful week, starting with a press conference where he said the DP World Tour was extorting players like himself and that he was standing firm on a stance to not pay fines, rejecting a deal that eight fellow LIV players accepted. He is against the DP World Tour requiring him to play two additional events over the minimum of four.
Then Rahm helped out eight members of LIV who had a tough time getting out of the Middle East, arranging a flight to Hong Kong.
Finally, on the golf course, Rahm did what he does best. The Spaniard shot 65–64 over the weekend to take LIV Golf Hong Kong, his first title since 2024. He won the 2025 points championship but did not have a win all season. So now that’s crossed off the list.
