The PGA Tour’s west coast swing rolled on this week with its annual stop in La Jolla, Calif., for the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. It offered a $9.3 million purse, with more than $1.7 million to the winner.
The event enjoyed significant buzz this week thanks to Brooks Koepka’s playing, as he returned to the PGA Tour for the first time since departing for LIV Golf in 2022, but the big winner was Justin Rose.
The 45-year-old Englishman led wire-to-wire in winning for the 13th time on the PGA Tour and for the second time at the Farmers, having also won in 2019. The final margin was seven shots over Pierceson Coody and Si Woo Kim.
