Henning Berg 'enters talks' over Hibs manager role as Ron Gordon chases experienced boss

Henning Berg is the latest name to be linked with the Hibs vacancy.

The former Rangers defender left Omonia Nicosia earlier this season.

Ironically he was replaced by a former Hibees boss in Neil Lennon.

The Scottish Sun claim the 52-year-old is interested in the position at Easter Road and could throw his hat into the ring.

Berg finished his playing career at Ibrox under Alex McLeish in 2004 and played 20 times.

Since retiring he’s had plenty of managerial experience over 17 years and would fit the profile Ron Gordon wants to replace Shaun Maloney.

The former Celtic star was axed after just 120 days and Gordon has made it clear he wants to bring in someone who’s been there and done it instead of another inexperienced coach.

And Berg started his managerial career at Lyn before joining Lillestrom.

A short spell at Blackburn followed before he then managed Legia Warsaw, Videoton and Stabaek and then Omonia.

He’s won the Polish league title and cup and the Cypriot first division and super cup.

He joins the likes of Roy Keane and Philip Cocu on the shortlist.

Cocu is believed to be the frontrunner while there’s been no official contact with Keane, although he is believed to be very interested in the role.
