One of the countries best loved gin brands, Hendricks, has just launched a brand new limited-edition drink that is inspired by the coast of Scotland.
The Scottish based gin company's sea-inspired creation is called NEPTUNIA and it is now available across most retailers and bars, but only for a limited time.
Created at Hendricks gin palace on the rugged Ayrshire coast of southwest Scotland, the location inspired the story behind the enchanting new flavour.
Master distiller Lesley Grace thought up NEPTUNIA to encapsulate the melody of the crashing waves that she would hear during her strolls along the local coastlines and beaches.
Classed as an 'experimental gin', the new release is described as an "unconventional, intriguing ode to the sea uses a mysterious blend of refreshing Scottish coastal botanicals."
Hendricks have said that the creation is the "perfect balance between citrus, floral and spice" and "a smooth, bright citrus finish with delicious notes of a distant sea breeze."
The new gin is part of Ms Grace's 'Cabinet of Curiosities' range, which is a real locked cabinet inside the Hendricks palace and consists of experiments from Ms Grace.
NEPTUNIA will join the likes of the eccentric Midsummer Solstice and Lunar Gin that were released in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Speaking about her inspiration Ms Gracie said, “Most of my creations are based on memories. Hendrick’s NEPTUNIA, for me, is that freeing feeling of the sea bottled in a gin – the wind in your hair and the salty sea breeze on your face.
You have that distinctive fresh character of coastal herbs, depth of flavour from the sea botanicals and an unmistakable clean, bright citrus finish that lifts and lightens in a round, refreshing way that makes it Hendrick’s.”
Hendricks Gin is produced by William Grant & Sons at the Girvan distillery and it is the only brand to use an infusion of cucumber and rose petals to create unusual and enchanting creations.
Hendricks NEPTUNIA is available to buy for £30 and you can find where to purchase here.
