Henderson Hospital will stop delivering babies and close its neonatal intensive care unit at about 7 p.m. on Sept. 30. Expectant parents who planned to give birth there now need to register somewhere else, and many have only days to do it.
The Valley Health System hospital said it is converting the space to medical-surgical beds. Hospital officials cited a need to "balance the decreased demand for maternity care with the greater need for medical-surgical inpatient beds,"KTNV reported. About 100 staff members are affected.
