Help with our search for Britain's most incredible pets

We all love our pets, but is yours extra-special? Has your dog changed your life, or do you know a cat whose companionship is helping people in need? Maybe your furry friend has overcome incredible hardship to be by your side.

We want to hear all about people’s animals of every kind up and down the land as we launch our search for Britain’s most brilliant pets. Nominations open today for the Mirror People’s Pet Awards, with Webbox.

We are looking for dogs, cats and more who have saved lives and changed lives, rescue animals who have overcome impossible odds, and pets you just can’t help falling in love with. There are also categories for adults and children who make an incredible difference to the lives of animals.

Last year’s inspiring winners included Max, a Staffie bred for fighting before being rescued and becoming, through his gentle nature, an ambassador of hope in a bid to break the stigma associated with his breed. We also honoured Mr London Meow, a hospital therapy cat beloved by patients and medics alike, and support dog Matilda, who formed an amazing bond with young Sofia Dobson left disabled by a stroke.

If you think your pet, or a pet you know, deserves an award, nominate them at thepeoplespetawards.co.uk.

We’ll share heartwarming nominees’ stories on this page, along with details of how you can get involved and vote for some of the winners who will be announced later in the year. So don’t delay, nominate today, and your pet could be celebrated as one of the best in Britain.
