Help For Households: Asda, Morrisons, Primark and others help with cost of living crisis

The Government has launched a scheme called 'Help for Households' amid the cost of living crisis. It brings together businesses that are offering deals and discounts to support people as prices continue to rise.

The offers available include ways to save on energy bills, groceries, retail and entertainment. It includes supermarkets like Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Iceland. Other retailers have capped the cost on items like school uniforms.

Primark has also committed to protect the prices on more than a thousands essential kid's items to support parents across the UK who are struggling with the ever rising costs. David Buttress, Cost of Living Business advisor, said the cost of living crisis leaves businesses and the industry with a "unique challenge" and shared the support available.

Buttress said: “The rising cost of living that we are all facing, both in the UK and globally, provides business and industry with a unique challenge and opportunity to do our bit.

"I am working closely with my private sector colleagues, to develop and promote new and existing business-led initiatives that support people with rising costs of living – from discounted prices or product offers to the expansion of business-run programmes.”

Here's all the deals you can get on your groceries:

Asda

Children aged 16 and under can get a hot or cold meal for £1 at any time of day in Asda cafés across the UK, 7 days a week, with no minimum adult spend. Asda are extending this offer to the end of 2022.

Morrisons

Morrisons are offering a free meal for 1 child under 16 when buying an adult meal with a value of £4.99 or over at in-store cafés.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s has introduced budget-friendly meal ideas to feed a family of four for less than £5. The recipes are available on the Recipe Scrapbook at Sainsburys.co.uk.

Iceland

Iceland is offering a number of cost saving initiative’s, including weekly discounts, product deals and frozen prices which are available in store, including £1 price freezes across 100s of lines for 2022, a weekly discount offering over 60s 10% off on Tuesdays & most recently The Iceland Food club, a partnership launch with Fair For You, to help families manage rising costs. Primark has committed to protect the prices on more than a thousand essential kids’ items. Stone Refurb
