Helldivers 2 gives in after 2 years, releases first roadmap for Machinery of Oppression: new enemies, biomes, missions, vehicles, and more as Arrowhead once again says "this is just beginning"

A Helldivers 2 Cyborg cries out in despair.

Liberty finally has a plan. In an unprecedented move, Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios has put out a full roadmap for the coming months, letting us see everything that's coming our way in the unending quest to defend Super Earth.

Dubbed the 'Machinery of Oppression', the outline covers the robot-centric 6.0 update, and proceeding additions. "Our fight for liberty continues to grow, and with each new front comes more opportunities to spread Managed Democracy across the galaxy," Arrowhead says in a blurb.

"Over the past months, you've stood firm through every invasion, every escalation, every unexpected threat," the studio continues. "Now, we want to give you a better look at what you'll be deploying into next."

First up on the chart is the big'un from back in February, with the Mega Factory biome, Cyborg and Vox Engine enemies, the Bastion Tank, and more. The Battle for Cyberstan is the central limited time event, and Siege Breakers is the latest warbond.

In March, then, there'll be more enemies, another warbond, and another new mission. More biomes are top of the list in both April and June, with enemy variants in the former too. New campaigns, and the usual mix of fixes and balancing tweaks permeate across the next few months.

Though it mightn't seem all that big, a roadmap is helpful for players to know what's coming in the near future. Arrowhead's been gradually improving Helldivers 2 over the last number of months, fixing technical issues, sorting out the filesize and beyond, and more has been promised.

"This is just the beginning - and beyond these updates, even greater operations are already in motion," the blurb ends. Sweet liberty.

Helldivers 2 CEO seemingly accepts fans' $1,000 challenge to play on the nastiest difficulty, but it might already be backfiring: "Quite a few rupture strain a**holes"
