Helen Skelton’s estranged husband Richie Myler has hit out at people sending him abusive messages as he goes private on Instagram.
The Leeds Rhinos rugby player has decided to keep his personal life private and away from the limelight as he revealed that he will unfollow people “one by one” after receiving “abusive messages".
The 32-year-old and ex Helen decided to call time on their marriage earlier this year after nearly a decade together. Myler is now in a new relationship with Stephanie Thirkhill, who is currently pregnant with their first child together.

While Helen continues to show off her dance moves on Strictly Come Dancing, Richie has also been updating his followers on his love life with snaps of Stephanie.
At the beginning of their relationship he decided to keep things low key. However, Richie went Instagram official with his new love as he shared a picture of the pair on their romantic getaway to Cornwall earlier this year.
However the star has now decided to make his Instagram account private and said he will start to remove people and only keep “genuine rugby fans” on his account after receiving “abusive messages.”
Sharing the news with his followers he went to his Instagram story and wrote: “I’ve decided to put my profile private from now on. If you are on here to share my photos or stories of me and my life maliciously to other people or waste your time sending me abusive messages please just unfollow me.
“I’m going to start removing people from my account one by one, so if you are a genuine rugby fan and I accidentally remove you I apologise in advance and will accept you back! Thank you Richie.”
This isn’t the first time the rugby player has received backlash as he was previously heckled by rival fans as he returned to the rugby field back in May. The Leeds Rhinos fullback made his first appearance in over three months after suffering an abductor injury in the first game of the season, but it didn't go to plan.
During the game he was involved in an altercation with a Red Devils player, which instigated a stream of chants. The most notable was a show of support for his wife as they sang 'There's only one Helen Skelton'.
