Helen Skelton and Strictly Come Dancing pals 'hide in alley' after man throws glass bottle

Strictly Come Dancing favourite Helen Skelton was forced to 'hide in an alley' after a night out in Leeds reportedly turned sour.

The well-known television personality had been partying with her fellow co-stars from the hit BBC One show, currently touring the country, when a man allegedly hurled a glass bottle in her direction.

Paralympian Ellie Simmonds, Tyler West, Molly Rainford, Neil Jones and an unnamed Strictly backing dancer all attended the evening, reports The Mirror, and, thankfully, none were directly involved in the altercation.

One man was arrested after the brawl, which took place as Helen's group returned to their hotel around 3am. The Sun obtained pictures which showed the 39-year-old in some distress, as her and her friends were nothing more than innocent passers-by caught up in already unfolding drama.

A source went on to say that the group had been "having a great time" while on the tour but were left stunned when things "kicked off".

They went on to say: "Two groups of lads were fighting and bottles and glasses went flying, none of the Strictly people were involved in the fighting, they were innocent passers-by caught up in it.

"A bottle came close to hitting Helen, smashing right by her feet, but she jumped out of the way," before explaining that Helen hid in an alley until the fight appeared to have dispersed after members of West Yorkshire Police intervened and arrested a 35-year-old man.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At 2.56am on Friday, police were called to a report of a fight involving a group of males in Duncan Street and Call Lane in Leeds city centre.

"Officers attended and arrested a man on suspicion of affray.

"He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing. There were no reports of any injuries."
