Helen Flanagan stuns in plunging dress after thanking fans for support over 'vile' messages

Helen Flanagan was not short of compliments as she defied the 'vile' comments she had received to pose up a storm in a plunging dress while on a sunshine break. The former Coronation Street star has been letting her hair down in Mykonos with her stylist pal Kelvin Barron.

The pair have been living it up in Ornos, a village on the Greek island of Mykonos, but Helen found herself so incensed by what she had read about herself that she took time out of her break to respond.

The 32-year-old shared how some paparazzi bikini photos of herself managed to bring about some unwanted attention. In an Instagram Stories thread, Helen showed some of the comments being made about her online, saying she had put on weight before another branded her 'insecure'.

She then hit back, writing alongside screenshots of the comments: "I'm 5ft 4 and a UK size 6/8 x I'm really proud of my body I've carried and given birth to 3 children," before addressing the vitriol in a video.

Speaking directly to the camera, the mum-of-three said: "Hi guys. Sorry I've probably got food in my teeth because I've just scoffed lunch - maybe I shouldn't be scoffing lunch seeing as though I'm gaining weight!"

"I feel really, like, rubbish about myself all the time and I'm just like, whatever. But I just think it's disgusting and I'm sticking up for myself because I think it's really horrible to speak about other women in that way. I'm all for women empowerment, I just kind of think you shouldn't be... especially as mums as well, everything that our bodies go through. I just think it's vile."

After sharing three different pictures of herself pregnant, another Instagram Story post showed her breastfeeding her now-two-year-old son, Charlie, as she wrote: "I also breastfeed my children in total for 3 years. I will not be body shamed. Yes I have had my boobs done and it's vile to shame that too."

But she didn't let the comments stop her as she continued to enjoy herself before later returning with a bare-faced, pouting selfie alongside the caption: "Thankyou for the love guys."

And it wasn't just privately Helen was being shown support as her fans and followers quickly jumped to her defence when she defied the shamers and returned to her main Instagram grid with a string of pics of herself posing in a figure-hugging blush pink dress that boasted a halter neck.

"A Leo in @liomykonos," the actress, who is famed for playing Rosie Webster in ITV's Corrie captioned the post. Taking to the comments, @sharon.hayes89 said: "U look absolutely gorgeous. Ignore the haters." @clareglanfield2 commented: "Ignore the haters. You're beautiful and they are just jealous."

@ange.mag1 replied: "You are absolutely gorgeous and an amazing mummy to your beautiful children. F**k the haters...they are jealous of you and extremely sad." @sharingmytruthpod posted: "You look fabulous. Don’t listen to the negativity, it’s just jealousy." @mandykargans added: "You look amazing ignore vile people."
