Helen Flanagan has shared a sweet video with fans on social media, revealing her emotional reunion with ex-fiance Scott Sinclair after her stint on ITV ’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The former Coronation Street star was part of the star-studded line-up for the hit reality show, and the special spin-off series was pre-recorded in September last year from the depths of the South African wilderness.
Helen, 32, took to Instagram Stories to share footage of the sweet reunion she had with Bristol Rovers footballer Scott, 34, and their three children after she flew home following her time in the jungle.
The couple split in September last year after 13 years together, and share daughter Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and son Charlie, two.
In the brief black-and-white clip, Scott can be seen waiting for Helen on the stairs with their cute brood, and the actress confessed she was upset to leave her kids for the month-long stint on I’m A Celeb.
“Found this video of when I came back from the jungle. I was away for one month and never left my babies before,” she wrote.
In a later post on Instagram, she sadly revealed she had missed her daughter’s first day of reception due to filming the ITV series.
Helen and Scott split just before she headed to South Africa for the show, but told OK! she kept her engagement ring on during filming so as not to draw attention to the fact their relationship had ended.
“I did wear my engagement ring when I was in the jungle. We’d only just broken up, and I didn’t want everyone to be asking, 'Where’s your ring?' I wanted to keep it private for the kids,” she explained.
The couple had been together since 2009, and Helen shared her hopes that they would be able to “stay friends and co-parent”.
“But children need happy parents and they need a happy environment, so it's not always so straightforward,” she added.
They sparked rumours of a reunion in April, as they were spotted in Dubai with their three kids while Scott was on a break from training.
However, Helen soon slammed the reports, and confirmed they were simply spending a day together as a family.
The actress, who played Rosie Webster on Coronation Street on and off until 2018, has been winning over I’m A Celeb viewers during her appearance in the jungle, after throwing herself into the challenges and tasks.
Helen became infamous for backing out of the trials during her original stint in the jungle 10 years ago, but has unleashed a new side in South Africa and pledged to give everything a go this time round.
