Helen Flanagan says she will always love Scott Sinclair after ruling out reconciliation

Helen Flanagan admitted she will 'always love' Scott Sinclair but she has 'no regrets' about the pair's split as she rules out getting back together.

The former Coronation Street actress has returned to TV screens for the brand new series I'm A Celebrity... South Africa and has opened up about her relationship with ex Celtic star Scott. The former couple split last July shortly before Helen, 32, filmed the ITV reality show in South Africa where she will be seen wearing her engagement ring.

The Rosie Webster actress and Bristol Rovers player recently sparked rumours of a reconciliation after they enjoyed a holiday with their three children in Dubai. However, Helen has squashed these rumours and insists there is no chance they will reunite.

She told OK! Magazine: “I just hope we can be good friends and co-parent.”

Speaking of the split, she added: “He’s a very private person, while I’m an open book. But we were together for 13 years – we both needed to deal with the break-up.”

“I did wear my engagement ring when I was in the jungle. We’d only just broken up, and I didn’t want everyone to be asking, ‘Where’s your ring.’” She told the publication.

“I didn’t want to talk about it… I wanted to keep it private for the kids, I didn’t want to be talking about it on the show. I did find that difficult, because I had all that going on in my head."

Helen and Scott first started dating in 2009, before the footballer popped the question in 2018 at Disneyland Paris. Before their split, the couple had actually set the date for their wedding and booked the grand Grantley Hall in North Yorkshire but had to tell everyone the big day was off.

She said: “We had to cancel things. We were far along with the planning…

“You don’t spend all your twenties with someone, have three children and not have a good relationship and care about them and love them. When you have that with someone, no one – nothing – can take away what we had. I’ll always love him and he’ll always love me, you just sometimes don’t work any more.

“It will always be really special. But I don’t regret anything. I have three perfect children.”
