Helen Flanagan has finally opened up on her split with ex-Celtic footballer Scott Sinclair after it was rumoured the pair were getting back together.
The actress has said that despite the speculation, there is 'no chance' that she and Scott, who is the father to her three children, will get back together.
In an interview with OK! Magazine, Helen even reveals that she had to cancel their wedding after they booked a venue just before splitting last summer.
During a recent trip to Dubai, rumours began circulating that Helen and Scott - who had been together for 13 years - had gotten back together after they were both in the UAE, and the mum-of-three appeared to be wearing her engagement ring.
Helen is set to appear in the brand new I'm A Celebrity...South Africa which was filmed last summer but she explains the sweet reason why she wore her huge diamond ring during filming despite the relationship already ending.
She said: "My ring’s my ring, it’s for my girls."
And she insisted that she's not giving her ex the ring back,
The pair share three children together – Matilda, 7, Delilah, 4, and son Charlie, 1 – and first started dating in 2009, with the footballer asking Helen to marry him in 2018 during a trip to Disneyland Paris.
In October last year, rumours that their engagement was off began after Helen appeared at the Pride of Britain awards red carpet without her engagement ring on her left hand.
Many believed the had gotten back together after the Dubai trip but Helen has said that's simply not the case.
Helen told OK! that the reason Scott was in the country during a break from training, while she was on holiday with their kids, was arranged so they could spend the day together with their kids.
Addressing why she still sometimes wears a ring on her left hand, Helen laughed: "That’s so typical of me – I didn’t even think about wearing a ring on that finger!"
Helen said she wore the huge diamond ring during filming of I'm A Celebrity...South Africa last year as her relationship with Scott had only just ended and she didn't want people inquiring about the whereabouts of her diamond.
She said: "I didn’t want to talk about it… I wanted to keep it private for the kids, I didn’t want to be talking about it on the show. I did find that difficult, because I had all that going on in my head."
Helen noted how her ex Scott is "a very private person" and they both needed time to process their split after 13 years together.
When asked if there is a chance she and Scott could rekindle in the future, Helen said: "No. I just hope we can be good friends and co-parent."
Helen then confirmed they actually split in July last year and had to tell her loved ones their engagement was off, after securing a date at the grand Grantley Hall in North Yorkshire as a wedding venue.
