Helen Flanagan admits she was "absolutely destroyed" during her first I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! stint in 2012.
The former Coronation Street actress first appeared on the show over a decade ago when she was just 22-years-old admits she didn't know what she was signing up for. Helen, 32, has vowed to do better after her lacklustre jungle performance the first time round and says she 'got absolutely destroyed'.
The soap star is joining the likes of Paul Burrell, Carol Vorderman, Amir Khan, and Janice Dickinson for the all-star series taking place in South Africa as the contestants compete for the I'm A Celebrity: Legend title.
Reminiscing on her first stint, the mother of three told The Mirror: "“I just got absolutely destroyed. It was just ridiculous. I was just like, ‘Oh, I’ll be fine. I’ll chill in my bikini, make some friends, it will be good for me…’
"I’d watched a few episodes but I didn’t watch it in detail. I was only just YouTubing things when I was on my plane, then I was thinking, ‘It won’t be that bad’.”
As well as not being good in Bushtucker Trials, Helen wasn't the best at coping with the wildlife in the jungle and cried at the sight of a rat. “I was horrified. I’ll never forget it. When I arrived at the camp there were rats everywhere," she said.
"I’d never seen a rat. I was just absolutely thrown. I felt sick. I was so scared. I was just horrified by everything.”
Speaking of her hopes to do better in the show a decade on, Helen added: “I did the jungle when I was 22. And now I’m 32. Obviously you change, you’re such a different person within 10 years.
"I really wanted to set myself the challenge of doing it. I’m A Celebrity is such an iconic show and it’s so flattering to be asked back.”
