Heidi Klum has given fans a glimpse of how she transformed into a creepy life-sized worm for her annual Halloween party in New York on Monday.
The supermodel, 49, lived up to her name as the Queen of Halloween when she turned up to her bash at Sake No Hana at the Moxy hotel in the larger than life costume.
Adding to the hilarity, the tail of Klum’s creepy look was attached to the rod of her husband, Tom Kaulitz, who dressed as an injured fisherman.
Keeping with the sea theme, Kaulitz’ twin brother and lead singer of Tokio Hotel, Bill Kaulitz, came dressed as a convincing mermaid.
In the lead up to the event, the runway star shared a number of videos of the laborious make-up routine, claiming it was her “hardest” Halloween costume yet.
And now, she’s showed off another glimpse of the process with a new Instagram post that sees her stepping into the bottom of her costume while clad in her dazzling bodysuit.
The fashion star was helped into the look by a member of the Prosthetic Renaissance team, who created the prosthetic shell alongside her longterm makeup artist Mike Marino.
After being fully dressed in the look, a special effects facepiece was applied to make her face blend seamlessly with the folds of the costume.
She captioned the photo: “Would you still love me if i was a worm?”
Speaking to Vogue about her look, Klum said it took her two years of brainstorming to come up with the worm concept.
“I like to do something unexpected, so I tried to think of a costume that is super absurd, but also very familiar,” she told the outlet.
“Because it is Halloween, you need the creepy factor, also a bit gross and disgusting.”
Despite Marino working with her numerous times, the model admitted he wasn’t so sure of her creepy crawlie concept, particularly the logistics of her getting around.
She continued: “I called him and said, ‘Make me a worm,’ and he said, ‘Huh?!?!?!’ He initially did not want to do it and kept encouraging me to think of a new idea. However, I am not like that: When I fall in love with an idea, I do not want to pivot.”
Klum has made headlines for her elaborate Halloween costumes since 2000, when she first began throwing her own parties to mark October 31.
She has previously dressed as Fiona from Shrek, an alien and Jessica Rabbit.
Her party this year was attended by a string of stars, including Twitter’s new owner, tech mogul Elon Musk, who turned up as a gladiator, Questlove who wore an astronaut comstume, and Klum’s daughter Leni, who stunned in a catwoman outfit.
