Hegseth quotes Pulp Fiction monologue after asking crowd ‘pray with me’

  • Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth delivered a prayer during a Pentagon worship service that closely resembled a monologue from the 1994 film Pulp Fiction.
  • Hegseth stated the prayer, called CSAR 25:17, was meant to reflect the biblical passage Ezekiel 25:17 and was used during the Sandy 1 rescue mission.
  • The prayer's wording was nearly identical to the fictional "Ezekiel 25:17" recited by Samuel L. Jackson's character, Jules Winnfield, in Quentin Tarantino's movie.
  • The actual biblical passage of Ezekiel 25:17 differs significantly from the version Hegseth quoted.
  • Social media users quickly identified the discrepancy, criticizing Hegseth for quoting a movie instead of scripture.
