Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth provided an update on the U.S. military attack in Iran Wednesday morning, projecting confidence that forces could “obliterate” Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, navy and former leaders quickly.
“I stand before you today with one unmistakable message about Operation Eric Fury -- America is winning decisively, devastatingly, and without mercy,” Hegseth said.
The defense secretary asserted that, within four days, the U.S. had made strides in taking down Iranian officials and military, including using a submarine, to torpedo an Iranian warship – the first time a submarine has fired a torpedo against an enemy since World War II.
“They are toast, and they know it,” Hegseth said.
Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, joined Hegseth to provide more updates on the logistics of the mission.
Meanwhile, Congress is expected to vote on the war powers resolution later, which intended to restrict President Donald Trump’s ability to attack Iran before Saturday’s missile campaign
