Flooding was reported in several locations of Bangkok on Thursday morning following hours of heavy rain overnight.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) reported flooding in 26 locations on Wednesday night and about 10 locations remained inundated.
They included Sukhumvit 26 and Sukhumvit 39 roads, a section on Lat Phrao Road from Chao Khun Sing Canal to Lat Phrao 122 Road, sections of Pattanakan Road, Sukhumvit 71 Road and a section of Srivara Road.
The BMA's Department of Drainage and Sewerage reported the hiighest flood level at 27 centimetres on Chalerm Prakiat Rama IX Road at Sri Udom intersection, followed by 24cm on Pattanakan Road in front of a Krungthai Bank branch, 15cm on Srinagarind Road near Wat Sri Iam and 7cm on Pattanakan Road at its intersection with Srinagarind Road.
According to the Meteorological Department's forecast, more rain was expected in Greater Bangkok on Thursday due to the strong monsoon trough in the North and the Northeast and the monsoon over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand.
