Heavy rain lashes Mumbai, disrupts traffic movement

MUMBAI: The continuous downpour in the city on Wednesday and the resultant waterlogging disrupted the traffic movement.

Police posted updates on social media and deployed additional personnel on streets.

They informed that the traffic movement was slow on Mankhurd Railway bridge's slip road (south bound), Bandra-Worli Sealink gate (south bound), Khar subway, Neelam Junction in Deonar, Hindmata Junction, Sakar Panchayat at Wadala, King's Circle, Kurla Kamani Junction, Everard Nagar, Mancherji Joshi chowk Junction in Matunga and Mafatlal Junction (south bound).

Potholes and slow traffic on BKC Connector led to a bottleneck at Chunabhatti, officials said.

"Manholes were opened by BMC staff at Dadar TT Junction due to waterlogging. They called for help from traffic police to manage traffic flow at the junction on Jame Jamshed Marg," said an official.
