Parts of the country, including Bangkok, face heavy rain and possible flooding this week amid a strong southwest monsoon, the Meteorological Department warns.
The southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand would bring heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of the western Central region, the East and the western South.
It urged residents in Ranong, Phangnga, Chanthaburi, Trat and Kanchanaburi to watch for flash floods.
Thunderstorms are expected to affect 40-60% of Bangkok and nearby provinces until Wednesday.
The department said Typhoon Bavi, which recently made landfall in China, could contribute to stronger monsoon conditions.
