Heavy rain and some sun expected in Leeds today before dry and bright weekend

Leeds residents have been enjoying brighter nights across the county recently, heading out for evening walks, and days outdoors.

And while there has been a lot of bright spells and sunshine, there has been patches of rain too. Conditions are expected to be similar this Friday (April 14) across the city today, the Met Office reports.

The rain will turn heavy and thundery later in the day and there is possibility of hail. Winds are expected throughout the day and showers shall dissipate again by the evening.

Dry and bright conditions are expected on Saturday. Conditions will be cloudy on Saturday night before patches sun, bright spells, and rain are expected over the Dales. Winds will be gentle and conditions are expected to feel warm when the sun is shining.

This Friday it will start out cloudy with temperatures of 5C, some sunny spells will appear around 7am. The Met Office reports there is a 80 per cent chance of heavy rain and dark clouds are expected between 11am and 2pm.

The rain will calm down but there will be some light rain between 3pm and 4pm. For the rest of the evening, Leeds residents can expect dry and cloud conditions.

Temperatures throughout the day will range from 5C, to 6C, 7C, and 8C. The maximum temperature will be around 11C.
